The most recent Spanish cinema arrives in Los Angeles
ICAA, American Cinematheque and EGEDA organize the 19th edition of the Spanish film exhibition Recent Spanish Cinema between October 16 and 19.
The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports together with the American Cinematheque and EGEDA have organized the nineteenth edition of the Spanish film exhibition Recent Spanish Cinema, which will bring the most recent Spanish films to the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles. The exhibition takes place next week, between October 16 and 19.
The 2013 edition will begin with a special premiere of the film that will represent Spain as best foreign language film at the American Film Academy Awards in 2014. 15 years and one day, directed by Gracia Querejeta and starring Maribel Verdú, Tito Valverde and Aron Piper.
This year's lineup includes films like The body, directed by Goya-nominated director Oriol Paulo; Scorpion in love which Carlos Bardem will present; Combustion, the new film by Daniel Calparsoro; Carmina or burst, directed by Paco León; A gun in each hand, by Cesc Gay o The last days, by David Pastor and Álex Pastor.
In this edition of the Recent Spanish Cinema, an activity will be carried out aimed at the youngest (primary, middle and secondary schools), in order to train them audiovisually. A recent Spanish film will be shown to them, not only as an element of language training (Spanish students), but also cinematographic.
Before and after watching the film, students will participate in a series of pedagogical questions and tasks related to the film to help them get the most out of it, in their own cinematic concept, while improving their Spanish language skills.
There will be a single screening on Friday the 12th at 11:00 with three different schools and the film The Adventures of Tadeo Jones, by Enrique Gato, will be shown.
