South Korea anticipates the future of television entertainment with Zero Density's Reality
El estudio ROOT Metaverse & Content ha aprovechado la potencia del motor Reality de Zero Density to transform several singers into avatars generated in real time, thus evolving the premise of the popular contest Mask Singer.
Avatar Singer (broadcast on the channel MBN in prime time for four months) invited viewers to witness performances by a significant number of top korean artists who hid their identity until the end. On this occasion, they did not use great costumes to keep the mystery, but they became 3D digital avatars with unique “physics-defying” abilities. To create this new format, cutting-edge technologies were integrated such as motion capture, facial capture, Unreal DMX (Digital Multiplex) for special effects y augmented reality (RA).
The process of creating the scenarios and avatar characters lasted three months, while the live motion capture tests lasted one month. The ROOT team created a unique avatar for each singer through 3D modeling y rigging, ensuring that each avatar will reflect the stage personality of the singer and allowed him to connect emotionally with the public. To bring the avatars to life, all the singers' movement data is recorded using motion capture. The tool Live Link of Unreal Engine was used to transmit all data to six Reality Engines of Zero Density, which allowed Preview performances and visual effects in real time.
Reality Engine allowed the 3D avatars will interact with fantasy elements on stage as if they were real in real time. Likewise, the presenters y dancers were able to interact in real time with these virtual avatars, a milestone that was achieved thanks to the capabilities of RealityHub control of the entire graphic layer.
