Antonio de la Torre and Clara Lago, who will present the ceremony that will take place on February 11 at the Andalucía Auditorium in Seville, advance what the Goya 2023 will be like.

Together with the president of the Film Academy, Fernando Méndez-Leite, have revealed this Wednesday some of the details of the gala that returns to the Andalusian city four years later.

Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia), one of the main television content producers in Spain, assumes the production of the 2023 Goya Awards, in a ceremony that Tinet Rubira and Ángel Custodio will direct and which has as coordinator of a team of scriptwriters Fernando Perez (nominated for the Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay for Kiki, love is made).

The actor from Malaga and the actress from Madrid shared how they face this ceremony, which seeks to “love our culture” and needs “the complicity of colleagues.”

"We go with the awareness that we are not presenters, but colleagues who are going to lead the gala. This is 'Art. 1 of the Constitution of the idea' with which we face the ceremony," explained De la Torre, who together with Lago, will seek the balance between talking about cinema and highlighting "a year of very good harvest", with the television show. “We're not going to be funny, but we're going to try not to be stupid,” he joked.

Both cited the call from the Academy. "They told us 'we trust you, be yourselves,'" recalled De la Torre, who sees it as "absurd to have references to repeat formulas from previous years, because that's what they would call others for."

“Presenting the Goya is quite a challenge and we know that you are going to do everything you can to make us spend an unforgettable night,” said the president of the Academy in this meeting with the media.

Clara Lago influenced the communion with the public that the Goyas promote. "Cinema only makes sense if there is an audience that sees it. We make films for them. That night continues to be the celebration of cinema and the Spanish public," said the actress, who also recalled that viewers can participate in 'La porra de los Goya', an interactive game with which it is proposed to guess who will be the winners of the 28 categories in the competition.

They have also revealed that the Mexican singer and songwriter, among others, will perform at the ceremony. Natalia Lafourcade, the artist from Malaga Pablo Lopez and the flamenco singer Israel Fernandez.

De la Torre and Lago will be tandem for the first time as presenters, in their second time working side by side, after playing father and daughter in the film Cousins, by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo.
