The Copa del Rey final will debut cameras integrated into the corner flags

The RFEF and the company The Corner Cam have reached an agreement to include cameras integrated into the corner flags in the broadcast of the Copa del Rey soccer final, which will pit Real Madrid against CA Osasuna.

Tested on March 24 in the match between the Spanish U-21 team and Switzerland, this solution allows for the integration two autonomous cameras on each of the four flags on the playing field, adding a total of eight cameras. Now, this unprecedented system reaches the May 6 final of the Copa del Rey soccer match, which will be played between Real Madrid and CA Osasuna.

To adapt to international regulations, The Corner Cam technology is integrated into the corner flag, which continues to maintain its designated minimum height of 150 centimeters and thickness of 50 millimeters. Likewise, to protect the integrity of the players, the post has “sufficient mechanical robustness to withstand small impacts.”

The Corner Cam has been working on this project for two years together with the Spanish company Sapec. After a period of many tests and several prototypes, the current product has been reached that meets all the regulation and will allow the viewer to approach the game from previously unknown prisms.
