Fastly simplifies its offering to offer more flexibility to the industry
New prices and simplified packages are the axis of the new strategy Fastly, which seeks to enable companies of all sizes to test and acquire its platform.
Ghassan Abdo, IDC Research, VP, WW Telecom, Virtualization & CDN de Fastly, justifies this decision in the “current changing market”, which “demands innovation, but also greater flexibility to satisfy all business needs.”
To simplify pricing, Fastly has decided to add flat rate options for customers who do not want to manage consumption based on usage. These new prices more predictable, eliminate the risk of surprise bills associated with events such as traffic spikes, global malicious attacks or configuration errors, which can lead to extra charges on pay-as-you-go plans. This new offer is distributed in three packages: Starter, Advantage y Ultimate.
On the other hand, Fastly has expanded its level free to make it easier for the entire industry to test its delivery, security, computing and observability services, as well as increasing the number of self-service testing options. In addition to the internal analytics tools Domain Inspector and Origin Inspector, free trials of WebSockets and Fanout are now available. Customers can use these tools at the edge, allowing their app to participate in two-way updates with very large audiences in real time. Fastly plans to add more self-service testing options across its portfolio throughout the rest of the year.
Fastly completes this reformulation of its proposal by confirming that its entire portfolio of services becomes available through its partners de canal, which will contribute to “generating more value and providing better service and support to companies.”
Todd Nightingale, CEO of Fastly, summarizes the value of the company's new proposition: "Fastly has always had sophisticated and innovative technology that solves the most complex challenges by putting customers first. Price and purchase should not be an obstacle when accessing the platform, so these new simplified packages are an important step forward for us."
