Mediapro produces 750 hours of the European Games held in Poland

For twelve days, Mediapro Group has broadcast 750 hours live of 29 different sports disciplines as host broadcaster of the European Games held in Krakow (Poland).

Grup Mediapro has acted as host broadcaster, together with Festival Group, in this sporting event that ended yesterday, July 2. The games have included 29 disciplines played in 26 venues.

To carry out this extensive deployment, the group has sent a team of more than 500 people to Krakow to produce up to 750 hours of live broadcasting over the 12 days of competition.

Cabe destacar que Mediapro será también el host broadcaster oficial de los Pan American Games que se celebrarán en octubre en Santiago de Chile. Es la primera vez que una misma empresa recibe el encargo de producir los dos eventos en un mismo año. La agilidad, disponibilidad y profesionalidad de los equipos del grupo permiten asegurar la mejor cobertura de los dos eventos multideportivos más relevantes del año.

Grup Mediapro ha desplazado hasta Cracovia a 500 profesionales de distintas sedes del grupo que han operado 16 unidades móviles HD y más de 250 cámaras entre las que destacaban 9 acuáticas, ocho grúas, 2 Cablecam, 4 Tracking cam, 45 ultra-slows y 14 drones. El despliegue más importante se ha realizado en el estadio de Silesia, ubicado en la ciudad de Chorzow, donde se han realizado las pruebas de atletismo y donde ha habido un despliegue de 90 profesionales y 45 cámaras.

La productora con sede en Barcelona ha sido también el responsable del diseño, construcción, ejecución técnica y logística del International Broadcast Center (IBC). The 1,200 m² IBC was located at the National Television (TVP) facilities in Krakow, and is where the signals that have been distributed to 50 countries around the world such as Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Spain, France, Mexico, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Turkey and Thailand have been received and managed. The group has also produced two 26-minute daily highlights of the day, voiced in English, as well as a five-minute clip that has been distributed internationally.

The Organizing Committee of the Krakow – Lesser Poland 2023 European Games, organizer of the event, awarded Grup Mediapro and its partner the production of this international sporting event after receiving several offers. The organizers valued the experience of the group, which organizes more than 15,000 annual live events around the world.
