Zeta Studios begins its international expansion from Mexico
Zeta Studios expands and begins its opening outside of Spain, with the signing of Marcelo Tamburri, as director of international content.
Tamburri, an executive who has accumulated great experience and prestige after working for different audiovisual corporations, has been appointed director of international content, based in Mexico, where the company will be established. Tamburri has been, in recent years, vice president of content development at Warner Media Latin America and Warner Bros Discovery Latin America.
Zeta Studios, founded by Antonio Asensio Mosbah, was born with the objective of designing, creating and producing fiction content for the main platforms and markets for content distribution and exhibition, both in film and television.
Asensio recognizes that "Mexico is one of the main Latin markets and from there we would like to start producing projects in Spanish, the language that unites us, and that can, in a very organic way, reach an audience that speaks this language throughout the world. The arrival of Marcelo Tamburri to Zeta Studios is the starting point of this ambitious project that we are so excited about."
Tamburri, for his part, points out that "this is a natural expansion since the quality of the products that Zeta Studios has achieved can be easily extrapolated to the rest of the Spanish-speaking world market. I am proud to be able to collaborate with this team, to further promote its international expansion and maintain the quality and interest of the series and films that we intend to produce from Latin America."
In the television area, the production company already has productions of great international success, such as the series Elite which will premiere its seventh season this year, placing it in Netflix's Top 10 of the most watched non-English series on the OTT service with 334.8 million and 302.2 million hours watched.
Recent releases include It's you, a romantic comedy directed by renowned director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa that ranked first in the non-English film category in its premiere month and the series, Better days, No traces y ¡García!.
In his filmography there are titles such as Super López, by Javier Ruiz Caldera, one of the company's most ambitious and commercially successful projects; the award-winning and critically acclaimed Sunday's illness, by Ramón Salazar, The Man of a Thousand Faces, directed by Alberto Rodríguez, or the franchises Three meters above the sky y I want you, adaptations of the novels by Federico Moccia, whose box office success continues to place them among the highest-grossing films in the history of Spanish cinema.
