The Television Academy has recognized the impact on the television industry of the Riedel Bolero intercom and its ADR (Advanced DECT Receiver) system with an Engineering, Science and Technology Emmy Award.

The Engineering, Science and Technology Emmy Awards are presented to a living individual, a company, or a scientific or technical organization for advances and/or standardization of engineering technologies that represent such a significant improvement over existing methods or are so innovative in nature that they have materially affected television. A committee of highly qualified engineers working in the television industry studies technical advances in the industry and determines which are worthy of an award.

Riedel - Bolero - Emmy nuRiedel will receive the 2023 Technology and Engineering Emmy Award for Bolero at a ceremony on October 18 in Los Angeles. This award represents Riedel’s fourth Emmy in its more than 30-year history. Previously, the company had received the Technology and Engineering Emmy for its work with Red Bull Stratos and Red Bull Air Race. The Bolero system itself received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2019.

The Riedel Bolero system supports up to 250 beltpacks and 100 antennas in a single deployment. Its 17+ hour battery life and optional standalone operation, which does not require a base station, make Bolero convenient to use. With features such as ADR with multi-diversity and anti-glare technology for greater RF robustness, “Touch&Go” registration on the beltpack and versatile operation-as a wireless beltpack, wireless keypad and walkie-talkie-plus Bluetooth compatibility and a bottle opener, Bolero has “redefined” the wireless intercom category.

Thomas Riedel, founder, owner and CEO of the Riedel Group, thanked the “talented experts on our team, who blend business and technology expertise seamlessly” for this recognition. “This award is an incredible recognition of their hard work across research, design, and innovation, which led to the development of this game-changing technology,” the executive stressed.
