Fujifilm enables 8K 30fps recording on its new mirrorless GFX100 II
The GFX series of mirrorless digital cameras Fujifilm is expanded with the new GFX100 II, a solution with high video performance aimed at the professional and semi-professional market.
The GFX100 II of Fujifilm integrates a sensor 1.7 times bigger than one of 35mm full frame, 102 megapixels and a processing engine high-speed imaging, X-Processor 5, capable of offering up to double the signal reading speed compared to its predecessor. The sensor represents a significant improvement in the camera's video recording performance, providing the ability to record in 4K/60P and included 8K/30p 4:2:2 of 10 bits internally. Furthermore, the GFX100 II supports various cinema recording formats, including Premista, 35mm and anamorphic with the mount adapter.
On the other hand, it has been added tracking AF function for video recording. This way, users can tap the screen to specify a subject to track while filming in AF-C + Wide/Tracking AF mode, allowing the camera to track the correct subject in situations where there are multiple subjects in the frame.
The body of the GFX100 II is equipped with a port Ethernet, as well as terminals HDMI Tipo A y USB-C, and supports timecode synchronization with atoms AirGlu BT. Additionally, it supports the “Frame.io Camera to Cloud” cloud service, so Apple ProRes Proxy files and a variety of other video files can be uploaded directly to Frame.io, dramatically streamlining the workflow from recording to editing.
Others outstanding features of the GFX100 II are its burst shooting performance, which reaches 8 frames per second; its improved AI algorithm equipped with deep learning technology, which allows it to detect animals, birds, cars or motorcycles, among other elements; the inclusion of non-expanded ISO80 sensitivity; 20 film simulation modes, or the new IBIS mechanism, which improves stabilization accuracy by using image information to detect camera shake.
Along with this new camera, Fujifilm launches three lenses: the Fujinon Lens GF30mmF5.6 T/S y GF110mmF5.6 T/S Macro, capable of taking tilt-shift photographs, and the Fujinon GF55mmF1.7 R WR, a large aperture lens with a standard focal length of 55mm, equivalent to 44mm in the 35mm film format, ideal for information-rich snapshots as well as portraits with a sharp subject against a bokeh effect.
