‘Alexia: Labor Omnia Vincit’ by You First, the only Spanish production nominated for the International Emmy Awards
The docuseries 'Alexia: Labor Omnia Vincit', a format entirely produced by You First Originals, is part of the list of nominees for the International Emmy Awards in the category of “Best Sports Documentary.”
Directed by Joanna Pardos, Alexia: Work Conquers All is the only Spanish production nominated in all categories of the 51st edition of the International Emmy Awards, awards that recognize the most relevant global television content of the year.
At the documentary, by three episodes, premiered on November 30 of last year in Prime Video internationally with notable critical and public success, coinciding with the rise of women's football and the career of Alexia Putellas. Just a few weeks before, the most successful footballer in history had won her second Ballon d'Or, the FIFA The Best award and the Best Player in Europe award for UEFA, among others. The documentary follows Putellas' rise while revealing lights and shadows and her obsession with being the best soccer player in the world.
Javier Martínez, director of You First Originals (content branch of the You First agency), highlights that the documentary “was conceived based on the pillars that underpin and guide the work of You First Originals: generating high-impact content, focused on talent and aimed at telling stories that move the hearts of other people, especially women.”
Onza Distribution celebrates Forever's nomination
Portuguese fiction Forever It has also been nominated for the best soap opera category in the 51st edition of the International Emmy Awards. Produced by TVI y Plural Entertainment Portugal, tells the life of Pedro (Diogo Morgado: Payback, The Bible), which has always been surrounded by mystery: he was abandoned as a child and grew up in a church. “The only thing that has always made sense to him is his first love, Clara (Inês Castel-Branco: Salt Sea; Tell me how it was), but he had to separate from her after a tragic event... Destiny, however, will bring them together again and Pedro will set out to win Clara back, whatever the cost, even though she is engaged to her biological brother, the man she will save," says the synopsis of the soap opera.
The news has been especially celebrated by Onza Distribution, which is in possession of the rights to sell Forever all over the world. The Spanish distributor is committed to bringing successful soap operas such as Green Gold (Payback), winner of the Emmy for Best Soap Opera in 2018; All for the party (Life Is a Party), winner of Best Soap Opera at the 2022 Venice TV Awards, or dangerous lies (On Thin Ice), also nominated in 2020 for the International Emmys.
