Lawo and HBS bring the advantages of the SMPTE ST 2110 to the 2023 Rugby World Cup
The IBC installed in Roland-Garros (Paris) for the Rugby World Cup 2023 It is structured with a SMPTE ST 2110 network architecture designed by HBS and supported by solutions Theirs.
HBS have decided to use a network SMPTE ST 2110 fiber optics for the interconnection of stadiums Burdeos, Lille, Lyon, Toulouse, Marsella, Nantes, Niza, Saint-Denis and Saint-Étienne with the IBC located in Paris.
The mobile units deployed to these infrastructures focused on Rugby World Cup 2023 They connect to the network through hyperdensity gateways Lawo .edge which are equipped with two blades processing and two rear I/O boards in one redundant configuration hot reserve. These units manage all the two-way traffic between the headquarters and the IBC through the transport network of Orange, and integrate seamlessly with HBS's existing IP core infrastructure.
HBS has also decided to take advantage of the advantages of Lawo Home Apps, microservices-based solutions that run on high-standard 1U servers and can be used in the most agile combinations, while allowing HBS to save space, weight and energy. Additionally, Lawo has confirmed that all IP flows passing through France are controlled by two clusters VSM independent, which adds intuitive emission control to this technological bet.
Bart Lucassen, director of engineering at HBS, highly values the performance of Lawo solutions: “”The good thing about the Home and .edge applications is that they are incredibly powerful and integrate perfectly with our existing IP configuration.” Going deeper into Home Apps, Karlheinz Amberg, global sales director of Theirs, adds: "Working in parallel with the existing vm_dmv solution from HBS, the Home Multiviewer app, with its freely configurable number of inputs and outputs, demonstrates that it is now ready to be launched on the market. The Home UDX Converter app, which has already been tested in Australia and New Zealand, is also being used for a large number of formats, color spaces and other conversion tasks."
