CBC/Radio-Canada and LiveU bring SMPTE ST 2110 standard to new broadcaster facilities in Montreal
LiveU's HEVC feature and advanced video return enhance CBC/Radio-Canada's live news gathering and production capabilities across Canada.
CBC/Radio-Canada has chosen LiveU as a technology provider, adding field units LU600 HEVC, servers and equipment to support your operations. The development of a new production center of the latest generation in Montreal and the public broadcaster's commitment to adhere to the standard SMPTE ST 2110 prompted LiveU to partner with CBC/Radio-Canada to develop an IP-based solution.
CBC/Radio-Canada facilities in Toronto and Montreal will be powered by LiveU equipment and will support broadcast, digital and radio operations. LiveU's distribution partner in Canada, DXM Technologies, will support CBC/Radio-Canada on the ground.
Avi Cohen, COO and co-founder of LiveU, highlights that "CBC/Radio-Canada broadcasts from locations around the world, requiring an integrated solution to deliver high-quality live broadcasts over IP to their audiences. CBC/Radio-Canada has given us the opportunity to understand their production needs and how they serve their audience. We are honored to have had the opportunity to work on developing a mix of products that support SMPTE 2110 for CBC/Radio-Canada.”
The potential to collaborate with global news organizations through LiveU's Content Contribution and Distribution Service, LiveU Matrix will enable CBC/Radio-Canada to share and receive content from high-profile events and breaking news events around the world.
