KBS relies on Lawo to take advantage of IP environments in its HDTV-4 mobile unit
The HDTV-4 mobile unit KBS has been updated with a selection of tools Theirs that allow Korean public television to begin to take advantage of the advantages of IP television environments.
The HDTV-4, the largest mobile unit of KBS, is designed for high-end productions thanks to its 16-camera setup and meticulously planned workspace. Recently, Asian television completely renewed the audio infrastructure of the vehicle, betting on an audio production console Their mc²56, an audio engine A__UHD Core, a catwalk Power Core and a stage box A__stage64, elements integrated by Dongyang Digital (VIRTUE).
The console mc²56Designed for fast-paced environments, it offers plenty of DSP power, an easy-to-use interface, and customizable workflows. Supporting SMPTE ST 2110, AES67 and Ravenna, the console integrates into KBS's IP-based infrastructure. On the other hand, the integration of the gateway Power Core and the stage box A__stage64 improves connectivity and signal transport, providing a robust and scalable audio network.
The KBS decided to bet on Lawo's technology since it needed a “system that could process reliably various signals”, as well as “integrate perfectly with the the VSM control system” and fit into the “limited rack space". The reputation Branding was also a key element for Park: "With our transition to an IP-based infrastructure, we needed a solution that guaranteed reliability. The excellent stability of the Lawo system, combined with outstanding sound characteristics, was a decisive factor."
