Magewell expands its range of Ultra Encode encoders with HDMI Plus and SDI Plus models

The compact Ultra Encode HDMI Plus and Ultra Encode SDI Plus encoders join the Ultra Encode family of Magewell, designed to meet the latest needs in live streaming, remote contribution or IP-based distribution.

The new ones Ultra Encode HDMI Plus y Ultra Encode SDI Plus combine encoding and delivery flexibility with simultaneous multi-protocol streaming, file-based recording, NDI HX3 support, 4K encoding at 30 frames per second, Power over Ethernet support, and advanced features for live production.

The Ultra Encode HDMI Plus can encode to resolutions up to 4096x2160 at 30 frames per second from its HDMI interface, while the Ultra Encode SDI Plus encodes up to 4K at 30fps from the device's 6G-SDI input. Both models support various video encoding formats and technologies, such as H.264, H.265 (HEVC), AND HX2 y AND HX3, and a wide range of transmission protocols, such as RTMP, RTMPS, SRT, RTSP, RTP, HLS y la tecnología ISSP de TVU.

The new systems can encode video at bit rates of up to 32 Mbps (62 Mbps for NDI HX3), while up to eight audio channels can be encoded in AAC. The Ultra Encode Plus's compact, camera-mountable metal chassis measures 106.6 mm by 106.2 mm, with a height of 25 mm. Integrated tally lights indicate program usage or previewing NDI HX outputs in live production environments. The devices offer loop connections as well as line-level analog audio input and output, and can power via PoE (Power over Ethernet) or the included power adapter. Additionally, the encoders feature Wi-Fi network connectivity and an RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port.

Like all Ultra Encode models, Ultra Encode Plus devices can Configured, monitored and controlled through a browser-based web interface. Control Hub software enables centralized remote management and control of multiple units. In addition to manual control, the web interface also allows programming of sequences and recordings, while system integrators and third-party developers have HTTP-based APIs to incorporate Ultra Encode Plus into their solutions.

Ultra Encode HDMI Plus y Ultra Encode SDI Plus are now available through Magewell's global network of authorized distributors and will be part of ISE 2024, the fair for the AV ecosystem (and progressively the broadcast world), which will take place from January 30 to February 2, 2024 in Barcelona.
