Pixotope Tracking - Fly Edition (Pixotope Fly)

The software solution Pixotope Markerless, real-time through-the-lens (TTL) camera tracking for virtual production is further optimized for greater operational efficiency, creative freedom, and a better viewer experience.

Pixotope Tracking – Fly Edition (Pixotope Fly) gives broadcasters and content creators access to zoom capabilities that go beyond the current limitations of a fixed lens position on drones and other cameras.

This allows a composition of more dynamic shots for workflows augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR) and virtual studio (VS) con greater simplicity during live streaming events, whether indoors, outdoors or in the studio. This new feature improves content quality and production efficiency with the ability to zoom the camera in and out of a space without having to physically zoom in or out.

Gideon Ferber, Senior Vice President of Product at Pixotope, notes that "the topic of adding zoom capabilities to markerless TTL camera tracking has long been considered impossible, until now. With zoom capability, users experience the creative freedom to capture more dynamic and engaging shots while still enjoying the same simplified setup and operation that Pixotope is known for. With the introduction of this capability, we are opening up new creative possibilities and delivering greater operational efficiency in the process."

With Pixotope Fly, broadcasters have a ready-to-use and affordable tracking solution to incorporate augmented reality graphics indoors, outdoors or in studio environments with precision and flexibility.

Thanks to its advanced computer vision technology, the TTL tracking solution uses visual feature points such as geological formations, tree patterns or architectural details to dynamically anchor AR graphics and create a virtual point cloud reference system that adapts perfectly to changing conditions. In this way, it effectively eliminates the need for tracking hardware, such as physical markers, camera and lens encoders, and the associated costs they entail.

The result is a dramatic reduction in both complexity and cost, increasing the overall efficiency and accessibility of broadcast operations of all sizes, while providing unprecedented creative freedom with a level of precision and flexibility that was previously unattainable.
