LaLiga shares experiences with the EUIPO to continue fighting against piracy

The offices of LaLiga have hosted a meeting between representatives of the European Observatory on Violations of Intellectual Property Rights of the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union (EUIPO) and the sports association to strengthen relations and establish joint lines of work against piracy.

He objective of the meeting has been sharing relevant information about the ways in which the illegal distribution of audiovisual content and how business models work around this illicit phenomenon. In this way, LaLiga seeks lay the foundations to generate solutions that allow us to more effectively address the challenge posed by the phenomenon of piracy of audiovisual content in the digital environment.

LaLiga has counted on the experience of its subsidiary in this meeting LaLiga Content Protection, an organization that has advanced technological tools integrated into its own anti-piracy laboratory located in Madrid. After the presentation, the organizations exchanged comments and experiences on effective intellectual property protection measures, the need to continue providing tools and resources to assist in the fight against intellectual property infringements, and raise awareness on the importance of intellectual property and the negative effects of audiovisual piracy.

LALIGA Content Protection, through its technological tools such as Marauder, Lumiere, Neko y Black Hole, supports companies like Telefónica, Atresmedia, Wimbledon, DORNA, SKY México and also has an agreement with the Ministry of Culture since 2017.
