A comprehensive remote acquisition and production workflow with AI elements to take sports production “to a new level”: this is the latest collaboration between Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC), company Nikon, y Pixelscope.

The joint solution created by both companies, tested in several table tennis competitions in the United States, integrates robotic heads MRMC AFC-180 with the platform Pixelscope, an artificial intelligence-based sports broadcasting system designed to be used by a single user. The solution performs a precise tracking of the ball and players, providing 3D trajectories in real time, and by collecting image, audio and time series data, facilitates the creation of “Sports Big Data", a data set capable of being visually integrated into the final production of live sports broadcasts automated by AI. Additionally, Pixelscope has the ability to generate summaries of key moments for use in replays during broadcasts, streamlining the content production process and improving the efficiency of sports broadcasts.

This combination, both MRMC and Pixelscope emphasize, allows automate processes, reduce human errors and operate 24/7, while offering personalized content based on viewers' preferences. Marius Merten, director of sports broadcasting at MRMC, emphasizes that in collaboration with Pixelscope “we can offer a complete product that sports broadcast production has never seen before”, offering “many new possibilities to take sports productions to a new level”.

On behalf of Pixelscope, its CEO Kei Kwon celebrates the collaboration by pointing out that MRMC It is the “ideal partner” to “continue advancing towards our goal of turning Pixelcast into the solution that more professional leagues and tournaments turn to, regardless of their category or sport.”
