Videosys Broadcast expands and rebrands its antenna division as VB Antennas
Two and a half years after the acquisition of Masthead Antennas, Videosys Broadcast has expanded its offices and manufacturing capacity in West Sussex, UK, while creating a distinct brand for the antenna division: VB Antennas.
The company thus responds to growing interest not only from traditional customers in the broadcasting sector, but also from the robotics, security and defense sectors. The company is also hiring more design and production staff for this division.
"Since the acquisition of Masthead, we have streamlined our design and manufacturing processes, ensuring product continuity. Parts are standardized and manufactured with components sourced from commercial suppliers," he says. Colin Tomlin, director general de Videosys Broadcast.
Since entering these new markets such as defense or security, Videosys quickly recognized the need to increase its manufacturing capacity to be able to react quickly to customer demand. “Many of these new markets require suppliers to deliver up to 1,000 units at a time, so we must be agile and prepared to meet that demand without affecting the supply of antenna products to our current customers,” says Tomlin. "By increasing our manufacturing capacity, we can reduce lead times to four or six weeks for all customers, which is much better than some of our competitors, with lead times of up to 14 weeks. In addition, all our products are manufactured in the UK. This is especially important in some sectors where provenance and reliability are key and where suppliers - and their suppliers - are carefully vetted before contracts are awarded."
