Ross Video celebrates half a century of life and reveals its latest proposals for live production at IBC 2024
Ross Video, in its 50th anniversary year, presents its latest innovations in live video production technology from its new location at IBC 2024 (stand B91 in Hall 8). From the impressive Artimo robotic camera system, to a selection of IP solutions and the latest weather charting software such as Raiden.
Ross Video is showing in Amsterdam the new Ultricore Tally, a versatile tally control and management solution. As a software application that is installed on At the top of the BCS, Ultricore Tally can be used as sTally solution stand-alone or in conjunction with other Ultricore features to offer a complete control experience. This comprehensive solution goes beyond the basic functionality of tracking airborne signals from source to monitoring point and offers a range of interoperability, scalability and configuration flexibility.
This solution offers direct support for most industry standard communication protocols to interact in real time with Ross Video equipment and third-party devices. Built on the solid and widely deployed foundation of the Image Video technology, Ultricore Tally integrates with any workflow.
Ultricore Tally provides the flexibility needed to operate in virtually any environment, from small to more complex systems, with resources shared across multiple control rooms, including remote studios and mobile broadcast trucks.
The Tally System Console allows a easy and centralized configuration and management from Ultricore Tally. Any number of different settings can be saved and quickly recalled to suit the needs of different productions or operator preferences.

Already anticipating NAB 2024, one of the proposals that attracts the most attention at the Ross stand is Artimo (Art In Motion). It is a new studio camera system that combines advanced robotics with fluid and dynamic movements. It offers the flexibility of a free-moving pedestal, allowing operators to create accurate and repeatable shots along with elements such as a tally or teleprompter, while being an agile and easy-to-maintain solution.
This proposal uses the LiDAR technology (Light Detection and Ranging) that helps robots navigate their environment through object perception, object identification, and collision avoidance.
Artimo is meticulously designed to meet the needs of engineers, set designers, producers and creative directors. This revolutionary system is suitable for a wide variety of applications, from new studios to the adaptation of legacy robotic systems, and can facilitate the transition from manual operations to automated environments, while improving the visual appeal of productions.
TouchDrive y Carbonite Code
With the new TDx4 and TDx3. After the TD3 and TD4, Ross takes a step further in its range TouchDrive of control surfaces for production mixers.
Also debuting at this IBc 2024 is the new Carbonite Code, a software-based production switcher optimized for NDI workflows and combining the reliability of Ross Video's Carbonite range with the efficiency and low latency of the popular NDI protocol. And most surprising, its starting price is around $15,000.
Ross has also made major updates to the real-time motion graphics system. XPression, including nnew M9 2RU and 4RU engines with advanced display functions on the front panel. The addition of HTML5 outputs for streaming channels and cloud-based production work further enhances XPression's capabilities.
It is also worth noting the launch of Mosaic Ultra. To respond to the growing demand for high-quality video content on large screens, Ross Video launches the next-generation Mosaic video image processor at NAB 2024. It offers video image quality of up to 50 million pixels in UHD or 20 million pixels in HD mode, with very low latency and the possibility of sending signals to multiple destinations.
Carbonite Ultra Solo
At IBC 2024, Ross Video has unveiled the new Carbonite Ultra Solo, a compact UHD production switcher that is designed to deliver professional mixing in a cost-effective package, allowing smaller operators to create engaging, eye-catching content.
Carbonite Ultra Solo offers a compact and affordable size, making it the ideal choice for HD/UHD flypacks, space-constrained production facilities or mobile units. It brings all the performance and ease of use of the Carbonite mid-size production mixer to the small switcher market, allowing even modest-sized facilities to benefit from professional production capabilities.
It is available in two versions: a all in one system which incorporates the frame and control surface electronics in a simple compact unit; and a 1RU rack which can be controlled by stand-alone hardware or a software-based control panel.
The count of inputs, outputs, ME and MiniME is identical regardless of mixer format, making the Carbonite Ultra Solo a worry-free platform for growing productions.
He powerful ME bench of Carbonite Ultra Solo and two independent MiniMEs (for greater transition and layering capacity) allow you to handle even complex effects with ease and confidence. The full ME provides six keyers, while the MiniMEs, with two independent keyers each, are the perfect tools for powering set monitors or IMAG displays.
Additionally, it includes a internal RAVE audio mixer, which offers a set of professional tools for audio processing, mixing and routing.
Thanks to its production sequencer, this simple but powerful tool helps operators with repeatable elements within live production. In addition to memory or custom control macro operations, the sequencer allows operators to link a series of tasks, events, or device controls for reliable, repeatable playback.
