Telecinco and Globomedia resurrect 'Aída' with a feature film

Paco León will be behind the cameras in the recording of the film 'Aída', a production by Telecinco Cinema y Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio) which will begin filming in the first quarter of 2025.

Born in 2005 as the first spin-off 7 Lives, Aida Since its premiere, it has become a television phenomenon: more than 6.8 million viewers (36% share) watched the first episode, a figure that marked the historical record for the production. In their 237 chapters, the series maintained an average of 21.1% share and 3,954,000 viewers, and many of its characters' phrases went beyond the small screen to become part of the imaginary español.

Now, Aida will return in the form of a feature film whose filming is scheduled for first quarter of 2025. Paco Leon, one of the leading actors in the comedy and with four feature films directed so far in his career (Carmina or Reventa, Carmina and Amen, Kiki, love is made y Rainbow), will be at the helm of the film as director and as author of the script along with Fer Perez, screenwriter of Aida since 2007. "At first there was a great desire from the public and also from us for a reunion. When they proposed that I be the one to direct the project, I had some doubts. Then an idea occurred to me and now we are working on it with enthusiasm. It is going to be a very strong journey for everyone to return to Esperanza Sur," León himself said.

The movie of Aida, still without official title, will be produced by Ghislain Barrois y Alvaro Augustin on the part of Telecinco Media, while Laura Fdez. I hope y Javier Mendez they will do the same on the part of Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio). Barrois anticipates that León will provide “greater narrative depth to the original formula,” while Fdez. Espeso considers “a privilege” to revive the historic format. With the participation of Mediaset España, Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group and Prime Video, the film will go through cinemas and, subsequently, it will have a preferred premiere on Amazon's video on demand platform.
