The director of films like 'It's for your good' and 'I leave it whenever I want', Carlos Therón, is now beginning filming 'The suitcase', a fast-paced action comedy produced by Telecinco Cinema y Zeta Cinema.
What began as a game, when picking up suitcases, between two young people who meet on a plane, ends with the chase of a dangerous gang that is hot on their heels trying to recover the wrong suitcase. The film stars Lucía Caraballo, Alejandro Speitzer, Leonor Watling, David Lorente and Víctor Clavijo. Its characters are involved in a mad race around a suitcase with the threat of a relentlessly ticking countdown. Laura and Nacho met on a flight, but once they collect their suitcases, their brief encounter will be over. Laura doesn't want that, so she proposes a game: if the first suitcase that comes out is hers, they will have a date that same night. Nacho accepts and, to get her way, she grabs the first suitcase she sees... without knowing that it belongs to terrorists.
According to director Carlos Therón, "the balance between the different genres and elements that coexist in this story is surprising and gratifying. Without ever losing sight of the comedy, the script delves into fields such as adventure, suspense, action or romance; achieving an almost alchemical mixture, fast-paced and entertaining, but at the same time coherent and enormously satisfying. The suitcase is a original idea by Diego San José con argument by Rafel Barceló, Carlos de Pando and Sara Antuña y script by Carlos de Pando and Sara Antuña. Its filming, scheduled for seven weeks, is taking place in the city of Madrid, its surroundings and Ciudad Real. Mediaset España, Netflix and Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group participate in the film and it will be distributed in Spain by Universal Pictures International Spain.
