Filming of 'The Walking Dead “Daryl Dixon”' concludes, the largest in the history of Aragón
The old town of Belchite (Zaragoza) has hosted the last days of recording of 'The Walking Dead “Daryl Dixon”', filming defined as “the largest” in the history of Aragon that has had a team made up of nearly 350 people working on three sets in parallel.
The “Hollywood blockbuster” arrived in Zaragoza after filming in recent weeks in different locations in Teruel. The uniqueness of the proposed locations was decisive in the arrival of this blockbuster. The historical old town of Belchite, a vestige of the Spanish Civil War, has required the intervention and collaboration of the Belchite Town Hall and the General Directorate of Heritage of the Government of Aragon, who have established the necessary measures to preserve the historical complex.
The recording has been complex as a result of the heavy rain that the last DANA discharged in the area. The director of the chapter, the Spanish Paco Cabezas, came to Belchite looking for desert, but has had to deal with unusual weather conditions in the area. Even so, the production team has managed to complete its filming schedule without significant delays.
The filming has had great collaboration from Aragonese institutions, regions and town councils, as well as Aragon Film Commission y Teruel Film Commission, who have been in charge of proposing locations, facilitating the processing of permits and contacts with suppliers. Natalia Martinez, head of the Aragón Film Commission, has stressed the importance of this filming, “the largest one hosted in this community.” Capturing this production for filming in Aragon and preparing for the crew's arrival has required nearly eight months of work.
Along with the protagonists, a good number of specialists in charge of interpreting the characters have participated in these weeks of filming. zombies from the United States. Although there will be no Aragonese zombies in this chapter, the production has had numerous local extras characterized as lepers.
