Parrot Analytics, specialized in television analysis, has also revealed that the most requested original digital series in the world for 2018 was Stranger Things (Netflix).

The Walking Dead

Parrot Analytics, specialized in television analysis, has published a study that shows that The Walking Dead It has been the series with the greatest audience pull around the world in 2018.

Despite having reached its ninth season, the apocalyptic zombie drama continues to engage the audience.

For this reason, the series has been awarded in the Global TV Demand Awards, held coinciding with NATPE 2019.

Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros and member of the Board of Directors of Parrot Analytics, highlights that "this is the first time that a television series has been awarded based on the real demand for that program worldwide. It is a reflection of how radically the consumption of content has been impacted by technology."

"The television business is now a $500 billion industry and outdated audience measurement systems simply don't tell the full story. Parrot Analytics provides the most accurate determination of what people really want in an ever-expanding multi-platform world. The Global TV Demand Awards are a celebration of content creators and distributors who are doing it right," adds Cisneros.

Wared Seger, CEO of Parrot Analytics, emphasizes that the company “has the largest first-party content consumption data set in the world, allowing the company to award the most comprehensive global ‘people’s choice award’ ever awarded to a television program.”

Parrot Analytics has also revealed that the most requested original digital series in the world for 2018 has been Stranger Things (Netflix).

The winners of the Global TV Demand Award were determined using Parrot Analytics' global audience demand measurement system, a system capable of measuring how much a TV series is desired in more than 100 markets around the world, across all platforms. The company captures more than 1 billion new data points each day across the spectrum of consumer activity, including video consumption (streaming and downloads), social media engagement (hashtags, likes, shares) and other research actions.
