'The Protected', the first series in the world to be recorded in 3D
The Antena 3 series produced by Ida y Vuelta for the network will bring more humor, adventure, intrigue and feelings in the new episodes... and now, in 3D. To make the stereoscopic chapter, an extra week of recording is needed compared to the 10 days it takes to shoot a conventional chapter.
The Protected, Antena 3's breakout fiction series from last season, once again surprises the viewer by becoming the first series in the world to be recorded in three dimensions.
Produced by Ida y Vuelta for the network, the first 3D episode of the fiction starring Antonio Garrido and Angie Cepeda can be seen on the big screen, in a premiere to be held in Madrid in the days prior to its television premiere. It is also planned that the screening of this unpublished chapter will take place in schools and hospitals.
Likewise, it is planned to be distributed in Blu-ray format, while antenna3.com is working on broadcasting it over the Internet.
The 3D technique
The stereoscopic technique, used for recording the first chapter in three dimensions, is laborious and requires a different recording time than conventional chapters, between five and seven days more compared to the ten days on average in which a usual chapter is recorded. For 3D production, editing is necessary with a slower pace of shots, more to contemplate.
The Protected It is a series that, due to its content and special effects, lends itself especially to being recorded in this technique. The 3D will appear primarily in the shots of the “powers” of the protagonists of the fiction, in which the visual effects will be enhanced, although it will be present throughout the chapter.
