Sobatech relies on the repetitions of RiMotion 12 from SimplyLive (Riedel) for the production of the musical show 'Zenit' by 3Cat

The RiMotion 12 replay system, part of the SimplyLive live production suite from Riedel, has been used by technology and video provider Sobatech in the making of 'Zenit', the great musical format of the season 3Cat.

Produced by Lavinia Group from the Terrassa Audiovisual Park, Zenit brings together 24 professional singers to perform musical hits weekly with great staging and elements of humor and entertainment. They do so divided into four “generational” groups (Z, Y, X and boomers), who will try to win with the support of the votes of an audience that has made the format a success with audiences in Catalonia. Sobatech has made its UM HD02 mobile unit available to 'Zenit', a vehicle equipped with MediorNet and with the system replays RiMotion 12, belonging to the range of live production products SimplyLive of Riedel.

Previously, the vehicle used technology from other suppliers, but the company decided to undertake a deep transformation given its new requirements: the demand for a native flow in 3G (1080/50p), the need for more ingestion channels or native support for audio networks Dante. All these needs are resolved with RiMotion 12, a solution with great adaptability capabilities that has already been tested in top-level productions. In the words of Xavier Soler, technical director of Sobatech: “The versatility of the solution allows us to work on all types of television productions without the need until now to have to incorporate teams from third parties. To date, we have been able to give quick and effective response to all the needs of our clients.”

Soler, given the company's limited investment capacity compared to large corporations, is always looking for tools with which to be able to offer a wide range of solutions reliably, and easy and quick to implement. “Nuestra relación con Riedel empezó con el uso de frames MicroN para infinidad de aplicaciones distintas, lo que nos sirvió de puerta para conocer en profundidad todas las soluciones que ofrece su porfolio. Todas estas experiencias con Riedel, con mención especial al sistema de intercom Bolero, nos ayudaron a tomar la decisión de invertir en RiMotion12 para nuestras unidades móviles. Fue en su momento una decisión arriesgada, ya que en España no existían aún muchas empresas que lo utilizaran en su día a día, pero estamos convencidos de que se irá convirtiendo en un estándar en la producción televisiva”, explica.

El equipo de Sobatech ha exprimido la solución para la producción de Zenit, aportando importantes beneficios en su uso, como su versatilidad, fácil configuración de las entradas y salidas y, lo que es más importante para Soler, “la facilidad con la que los operadores aprenden a usar el RiMotion”. El equipo de Sobatech emplea esta herramienta en su versión R12, la cual permite gestionar hasta 12 canales a 1080p 8bit ofreciendo capacidades de slowmotion, incluyendo soporte de cámaras para super slow-motion (SSM), siendo manejable a través de un intuitivo panel de control o la interfaz táctil del sistema. El sistema, preparado para ser gestionado por uno o dos operadores, es compatible con fuentes SDI, NDI, TS UDP, TS RTP, RTMP (Input) o SRT y cuenta con una fuente de alimentación redundante para poder garantizar que las imágenes están disponibles para los realizadores en cada momento de la producción.

“Además, RiMotion 12 tiene un gran potencial para producciones REMI gracias a la capacidad de ingestar nativamente flujos de vídeo IP en distintos formatos”, especifica el responsable de Sobatech, satisfecho de haber apostado por una solución que, apunta, podría ser un nuevo estándar del mercado: “Hasta hoy, no hemos necesitado soporte por parte del fabricante. Solamente la formación inicial en el momento de la entrega del sistema fue suficiente para poner el sistema en producción. Eso dice bastante a favor de RiMotion”.
