PMC's Result6 monitors, supplied by Soundware, transform the sound experience of Ariel Rot's home studio

The Argentine musician Ariel Rot, history of eternal bands in Spanish rock such as Tequila and Los Rodríguez, has renewed its home studio with Result6 bi-amplified active monitors PMC, supplied by the team Soundware (Data Average).

With an extensive solo career for nearly three decades, and a central role in iconic Spanish rock bands such as Tequila o The Rodriguezes, the Argentine vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer Ariel Rot stands in capital letters as one of the defining names of the rock music.

Resident in Madrid, the author of hymns like “Salta”, “Tell me that you love me”, “Rock And Roll in the Plaza del Pueblo”, “Much better” or “You're catching me again” he used to record in his home studio using some semi-professional headphones; simple monitoring, but limited, to shape his sound universe, full of classic guitars heirs of the main names of the genre.

“I was looking for some baffles "That they were useful for recording, but that they were not hard to listen to music," explains Rot. In conversation with Thomas Nielsen of Data Media, the Argentine artist discovered Result6 from the British manufacturer PMC: "I didn't know them. I started researching and the truth is that they were completely right."

The PMC Result6, used in the home studios of such prominent artists as Basement Jaxx, but also present in recording rooms around the world, integrates technology ATL, and patented system bass loading. In this way, the system allows offering high resolution and details, y equilibrio tonal at all levels (45Hz – 22 kHz), granted by their two low distortion amplifiers (HF 65W y LF 100W).

Precision and warmth, in the PMC Result6

After Soundware Media, compañía hermana de Datos Media dedicada al mundo del audio, le suministrara los monitores, estos fueron puestos a prueba (como no podía ser de otra forma) con ‘Hackney Diamonds’ (2023), el último LP de The Rolling Stones. The result superó todas las expectativas: “Es un disco increíble. Suena a los Stones, y al mismo tiempo actual. Lo reproducimos y el resultado nos flipó: tenía un punto muy redondo, muy cálido y muy equilibrado, sin estar inflado de graves”.

El gran resultado de esta prueba animó al multiinstrumentista a retomar sus labores de producción casera: “Enseguida me dio ganas de grabar y de ver cómo sonaba. Se escucha muy bien a unos niveles bajos. Es muy limpio, muy preciso y si le “pisas una tercera” mantiene el equilibrio todo el tiempo. Bajo, batería… Tiene mucha calidez para todo”.

En el futuro cercano, Ariel Rot seguirá utilizando los Result6 de PMC para maquetar las canciones que, quién sabe, podrán definir el próximo capítulo de su etapa en solitario: “La verdad es que soy muy mal ingeniero. Yo lo que quiero es grabar rápido y que quede esa sensación fresca de las primeras tomas. Procuro encontrar lo básico para no tener que complicarme la vida. Y estos equipos me lo ponen muy fácil. Dan ganas de tener material grabado para escucharlo después”.
