Prolight+sound will celebrate its 30th anniversary with more than 500 exhibitors and an eye on audiovisuals
The Messe Frankfurt (Germany) will host the 2025 edition of the Prolight+sound, an event focused on lighting and audio that will celebrate its 30th anniversary with more than 500 exhibitors, a forecast of more than 25,000 visitors and a renewed focus on the latest immersive entertainment trends.
Sustainability, immersiveness, artificial intelligence y technological versatility are some of the concepts that will accompany manufacturers, technicians and creatives from “all sectors of the industry” in a new edition of Prolight+sound. All, in the largest post-pandemic edition to date, which plans to exceed the 500 displays and the most 25,000 visitors of 100 countries who visited the German city in the 2024 edition.
Prolight+Sound refuses to take a back seat in the panorama of global technological events. There are more than enough arguments to vindicate the historical relevance of a date willing to return to a path of growth and influence. In the words of its director, Mira Wölfel: "What makes this show unique for the world of entertainment is that exhibitors have the opportunity to show the performance of the products, while visitors can feel them. The feeling, when you arrive, is unique."
The lighting and audio will continue, as it could not be otherwise, occupying most of the exhibition floor, but the demand for content and of immersive experiences has made the appointment adapt to continue expanding its area of audiovisual and cameras, which was born three years ago and “is getting bigger.” This renewed focus will be accompanied by a training program, free and expanded, which will allow sharing knowledge and keep creating networking within the audiovisual field.
Everything, of course, framed in a 30th anniversary which will make, in the words of Wolfel, “don't sleep any night.” And all visitors will be invited to three celebrations in “exclusive Frankfurt locations” so they can experience a few hours of networking and sharing in a relaxed manner anecdotes of the three decades that the fair has accompanied the industry. Likewise, Prolight+sound will release a stand “anniversary” as a meeting point for these evenings and will renew its opus award como “Opus – International Stage Award”.
Prolight+Sound 2025 will include many other new features such as renovated stage and theater areas; the space MixLab, dedicated to the world of mixing consoles; the special area MusicOneX, aimed at addressing all creative and technological aspects of music; camera training and visits to cutting-edge mobile units; Green Sessions, presentations dedicated to sustainability, and a wide selection of speakers de la talla de Guy Bigwood, Sven Ortel, Anouk Wipprecht, Yasi Hofer, Michael Neubauer or Linnea Ljungmark.
