Francisca González Santana, new director of the RTVE Production Centre in the Canary Islands
The journalist Francisca González Santana (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1976) has been appointed as the new director of RTVE in the Canary Islands, the Corporation's second largest production centre.
González has spent almost his entire professional career at RTVE, between Torrespaña and the production centre in the Canary Islands. With a degree in Information Sciences (Journalism) from the Complutense University of Madrid, and in Asian Studies from the Open University of Catalonia, in her 22 years of experience at RTVE she has worked as a writer, editor, translator, presenter and director of programmes such as 'TVE talks with', content creator, scriptwriter and director of News.
He has worked in the News, in which he was in charge of the area of Education and Science; and where she was a special envoy to countries such as China (Sichuan earthquake, 2008), Argentina and Germany. A specialist in the area of Courts, in the Canary Islands he has covered from the visit of the Chinese president to Gran Canaria in 2016 to the eruption of the Tajogaite volcano in La Palma in 2021.
