The Sony Catchlight Film Festival 2025 returns with its traditional competition

In its fifth edition, the Catchlight Film Festival continues its mission to encourage filmmakers of all levels, from passionate amateurs to those established in the film and television industry, to showcase their talent and skills in Sony production environments.

The inscriptions of the 2025 edition of this event, especially focused on production in Australia and New Zealand, are already open en cada una de sus categorías: ficción (con guion), no ficción, vídeo musical, ficción estudiantil y cine social. En colaboración con Sony Pictures Releasing, los ganadores en las categorías de ficción, no ficción y ficción para estudiantes serán premiados con una experiencia única de tutoría, además diferentes paquetes de premios.

El ganador de la categoría de fiction you will get VIP tickets to the Catchlight Film Festival awards ceremony in Sydney for up to 5 people from the production team; $5,000 worth of Sony Digital Imaging products; a loan of Sony Digital Imaging products worth up to $5,000; a $5,000 grant, and a Sony Pictures career development/counseling session for up to 3 people from the production team with a senior executive from Sony Pictures Releasing and a leading Australian producer. The awards remain unchanged, with the exception of the mentoring professionals, in the rest of the categories.

Registration for Catchlight Film Festival 2025 will close at 11:59 p.m. AEST on Monday June 30. The jury will begin work on Tuesday, July 1, and finalists will be notified beginning Monday, July 28, 2025. If finalists cannot be contacted within five business days of initial notification, their application will be deemed invalid and another finalist will be selected in their place.

The Catchlight Film Festival awards ceremony will take place at September 2025.
