The most disruptive innovation returns with the THU Sony Talent League
Sony Talent League, the global challenge organized by Sony y Trojan Horse was an Unicorn (THU), reaches its third edition.
Sony Talent League aims boost the best creative profiles to show their talent and present disruptive ideas. Applications are open to artists between 18 and 35 years old that they have innovative ideas with art as a starting point, combining different areas of creativity, such as animation, cinema, video games, virtual reality, digital photography, music and multimedia, among many others. These artists can appear individually or in group (up to four people).
The five finalists will be announced on December 20 and they will receive nine weeks of tutoring. This initiative will have Shuzo John Shota (also president of the Sony Talent League jury), as well as with Kris Pearn, animation director and producer, who has directed several films such as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2; Jinko Gotoh, an Academy Award-nominated production company that won the BAFTA for Best Animated Feature and is known for its work on Klaus, The Little Prince y Lego Movie 2; Kevin Young, creative director and head of creative technology at the London studio of The Mill, o Mike Rianda, American cartoonist, director and screenwriter known for his work on Gravity Falls y The Mitchells against the Machines.
After this mentoring period, the finalists will have the opportunity to present their projects to the investors, they will receive up to 10,000 euros of financing to develop your idea and a complete journey to the next THU Main Event, which will be held in a still undefined location in Catalonia. Of the March 17 to 19, 2023, will be presented final pitch to the jury, which will decide the big winner, in a three-day in-person bootcamp. For the first time in the history of this initiative, this moment will be celebrated in person and the participants will be able to meet personally, create a network, share experiences and co-create together, as well as knowing some of the best-known names in the digital entertainment industry.
Togather, a platform created by Dilruba Tayfun, Marie-Claire Springham, Ruben de Haas and “Ari Snow”, where anyone can make and share their personalized digital brushes inspired by real-life objects, was the first winner of the Sony Talent League, followed by Knowhere, an interactive mobile game that promotes diversity and inclusion among young people around the world created by the North American team Knowherians.
Artists can present their projects between October 17 and December 8 through this website.
