Made-in-Kent: public service powered by AEQ

The local radio Made-in-Kent, a British station based in the county of Kent focused on public service, has recently undertaken an ambitious technological renovation starring the incorporation of the ultra-compact mixer AEQ Capitol IP.

The story of Made-in-Kent Radio dates back to 2010, when Matt James Soper founded The Creation Lab. However, it was during the pandemic when the project evolved into a station with a clear objective: to support local businesses and encourage the consumption of county products. In this sense, the station strives to connect listeners with businesses based in Kent, highlighting the quality of the products cultivated and processed locally. Currently, Made-in-Kent Radio can be tuned through their application for smart mobile devices and, from 2024 on its website by FM y DAB, thus expanding its reach and accessibility to listeners.

As part of its recent technological renewal, Made-in-Kent Radio has opted for digital technology AEQ. At the heart of your new system is the ultra-compact mixer AEQ Capitol IP, through which all the signals produced by the station pass. The choice of this technology responds to the professional level of the operators and the desire to have a robust system, high quality digital audio and simple operation.

The AEQ Capitol IP is a fixed configuration digital audio mixing console with 8 canales. Its IP connectivity is implemented through a single module that allows 16 input and 16 output channels. In addition to offering a wide input capacity, such as 4 mic/line, 12 analog, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional phone lines and optional digital multichannel audio links, it includes 16 AoIP channels via two Ethernet connectors or up to 64 MADI channels by optical fiber.
