'Marusía. Winds of Honor' (Telecinco)

Various locations in Pontevedra, including the city of Vigo and the Rías Baixas, host the filming of 'Marusía. Winds of Honor', a production that will be seen in Telecinco (Mediaset Spain).

Made in collaboration with Unicorn Content with the support of the Galician production company CTV, Marousia. Winds of Honor is a creation of Ignacio del Moral (The Marquis, Mondays in the sun), Begoña Álvarez (Missing. The series, The Marquis) and Laura Belloso (The Boarding School, Luna, the mystery of Calenda). With Lucía Jiménez and Alfonso Bassave as protagonists, the cast is completed with Miquel Fernández, Carmen de la Vega, Edith Martínez Val, Paloma Stewart, Álex Medina, Darío Loureiro, Arwent Martínez, Iria Orejudo and Nacho Nugo, among other actors and actresses.

The series, shaped with the collaboration of the Spanish Navy, combines in its plots elements of Thriller, drama, love, action and mystery. Its development takes place within the framework of the Naval Military School of Marín, a military institution with more than 300 years of history in which future officers of the Spanish Navy are trained.

Winds of Honor It is the first television series to take on the challenge of approaching the environment of the Spanish Navy, seeking, on the one hand, to offer a look that helps to better understand this unique and fascinating institution, its values, its operation, the way of seeing the life of those who are part of it and its enormous capacity for discipline and sacrifice; on the other, to do so through close, familiar and unique characters and a series of stories that combine rigour and respect with the necessary doses of drama, intrigue and emotion that fiction demands. To this end, the Spanish Navy provides advice in order to make the story plausible and realistic.

Marousia. Winds of Honor is one of the series benefiting from the aid for the Audiovisual filming of the Xunta de Galicia, through the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries, and is co-financed by the European Union. The main objective of these grants is to promote film and television shootings in Galicia to promote the value chain of the Galician audiovisual industry, improve its competitiveness, promote its sustainable growth, contribute to the maintenance of quality employment in the sector and position Galicia as a reference scenario for filming at an international level.

Synopsis of 'Marousia. Winds of Honor'

"The new course begins at the Naval Military School of Marín marked by the death of a student in the previous year. Officially, it is a suicide; Unofficially, many questions have remained unanswered. Teresa Ibarra (Lucía Jiménez), the newly appointed commander director of the School, not only faces the consequences of the event, but must also investigate its causes. To do this, she is forced to collaborate with Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Carvajal (Alfonso Bassave), in charge of clarifying the facts, whose presence makes her relive traumatic memories and face internal conflicts that she thought she had left behind".

"At the same time, Carmela (Paloma Stewart), Jahzara (Edith Martín-Val) and Renata (Carmen de la Vega), three young women from different social backgrounds and with different motivations, enter the School ready to carve out a future in Naval Defence. There they will not only face academic difficulties and the rigid military hierarchy, but also demanding instruction and the psychological pressure of assuming values and behaviors very different from those of their previous life."
