The Mediapro Studio shoots the original series 'It was always me' for Disney+

Directed by Felipe Cano, the production is entirely developed in Latin America set in the paradisiacal Colombian Caribbean. It will arrive on Disney + towards the end of 2021.

It was always me, the new original series of Disney+ made in Latin America by The Mediapro Studio in Colombia and Argentina, filming has begun. Starring the Mexican actress and singer Karol Sevilla (I am Moon, Disney Channel), the Colombian singer Pipe Bueno and the renowned Colombian-Mexican actor Christian Tappan (The Queen of the South), will arrive on Disney+ towards the end of 2021 and promises to conquer audiences with an intriguing story, full of mystery, adventure, romance and music in the Caribbean region of Colombia.

The new series is made up of ten 40-minute episodes, and is directed by Felipe Cano (Mary Magdalene, The Commander).

It was always me is another example of The Walt Disney Company's commitment to making more than 70 original productions in Latin America, between 2020 and 2021, developed by and for Disney+ by renowned production houses from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, and with the participation of established talents from across the region.

The series follows the adventures of Lupe (Karol Sevilla), a Mexican girl whose life takes an unexpected turn when she learns of the death of her father, El Faraón (Christian Tappan) – Colombia's top musical star – and decides to leave her native Mexico behind to travel to Cartagena and attend the funeral. He quickly realizes that nothing there is what it seems and decides to enter a musical competition to be close to his father's environment and investigate his suspicious death. Together with Noah (Pipe Bueno), a young former assistant of her father, Lupe embarks on a mission full of danger, romance and a lot of music to clarify this mystery in the heart of the Colombian Caribbean.

The new series features original songs produced by Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres and performed by Karol Sevilla and Pipe Bueno, who are accompanied by a talented international cast. The recordings will extend until May of this year in real locations in the Colombian cities of Bogotá and Cartagena, among others, and on the paradisiacal beach of Barú.
