The Mediapro Studio begins filming the series 'The Internationals' in Bogotá

Based on the novel by journalist Nahuel Gallota 'The Bogotá Connection, it is a co-production with Viacom International Studios, Telecom and Olympusat.

The Mediapro Studio has started filming in Argentina The Internationals, the first fiction series set in the political and economic crisis that affected the country in 2001, made in co-production with Viacom International Studios (VIS), Telecom y The Olympus. The series will be broadcast in 2020 on the Telefe channel, as well as as a video on demand option on Flow, Telecom's multi-platform content.

This production is added to the international projectss that The Mediapro Studio has underway at the moment and that include the thriller The Head, the series created by brothers David and Álex Pastor and directed by Jorge Dorado whose filming has just finished in Iceland; The Paradise, co-production with the Finnish network YLE, filmed on stages in Finland and the Costa del Sol, which features Fran Perea in its cast; The New Pope, the series by Paolo Sorrentino, recently presented at the Venice Film Festival; or the projects developed in Latin America, which in addition to The internationals include Las Bravas F.C., in co-production with Turner Latin America; N00bees, which is now in its second season with Viacom International Studios or Little Victory, a comedy created by Erika Halvorsen and Daniel Burman, also in co-production with Viacom International Studios and Oficina Burman, a company owned by The Mediapro Studio, which has become Telefe's best premiere so far this year.

Based on the novel The Bogotá connection that of the journalist Nahuel Gallota, The Internationals tells the story of this gang of Colombian thieves, who traveled to Argentina in the middle of the corralito crisis to take advantage of the situation of looting and social dismantling. In 2001, many Argentines were forced to cancel their accounts and withdraw their savings from banks due to the threat caused by the deep economic and political crisis that plunged the country into chaos. “The internationals” took advantage of this disorder to rob private homes and make off with an important loot of money and jewels that turned them into legends.

The Argentine actress Cecilia Roth (All about my mother, Martin H, History of a Clan, The Angel, Pain and Glory) and the Colombian actor Juan Pablo Shuk (The Ship, The Ministry of Time, Narcos) lead the cast of the series, playing respectively the prosecutor Marta Costas and Fausto, one of the members of The Internationals. Completing the cast are actors Rafa Ferro, Boy Olmi, Carlos Santamaria, Gustavo Garzon Rami Herrera, Sabastián Osorio, Camilo Amores, Christian Vega, Laura Perico and Susana Varela.

The filming of The Internationals It will begin in Bogotá and continue until mid-December in locations in Buenos Aires. The series has the support of INCAA (National Institute of Audiovisual Arts of Argentina).
