The Mediapro Studio begins filming 'Express', the first Starzplay original series to be produced in Spain

This suspense and action thriller is Starzplay's first local language production in Spain and the first series to turn express kidnappings into fiction.

For 17 weeks in locations in Madrid and its surroundings, The Mediapro Studio will roll Express, the first international original series of Starzplay which is shot and produced in Spain.

The action thriller is written by Iván Escobar (Dream a Dream), Antonio Sánchez Olivas (Aida) y Martin Suarez (Rabia) y created by Iván Escobar, who is also showrunner of the series. The direction is provided by Gabe Ibáñez (Autómata) and Iñaki Peñafiel (Perdida). Express It will be available through the platform service in Spain and Latin America and in the United States on Pantaya.

The main performers of the series are Maggie Civantos, Vicente Romero, Loreto Mauleón, Esteban Meloni, Alba Planas, Ana Marzoa, Omar Banana, Bernardo Flores and the young actresses Carmen Daza and Manuela Rojas.

In eight episodes, Express addresses the story of a criminal psychologist, Bárbara (Maggie Civantos), and her family, after becoming the victim of an express kidnapping: a terrifying form of extortion that is spreading throughout the world and, in most cases, ends with a violent murder. The series aims to be a reflection of the society in which we live, where life runs at full speed and immediacy is the axis of our lives. A world in which everything moves so fast that there is no room to react to extreme situations. Aware that fear is the biggest business in the world, many use it as a quick method to obtain profits. After her kidnapping, Bárbara works as a negotiator in cases similar to hers and her main objective is to understand why she became the victim and discover the people who broke her life and her family.

Express It is the first production to be shot and produced in Spain for Starzplay, which, through its International Originals division, is creating new co-production opportunities to advance and show a bold offer for subscribers.
