EasyTools and Netint Technologies propose a more cost-effective transcoding solution
EasyTools, a French company specialized in versatile video infrastructure solutions, in collaboration with Netint Technologies, a pioneer in VPU, develop a transcoding solution that promises to multiply density tenfold.
By integrating EasyTools transcoding software with video processing units (VPUs) Quadra from Netint, the solution enables broadcasters and streaming service providers to achieve ten times the transcoding density, which significantly reduces operating costs and the power consumption.
The combined solution is perfect for sports broadcasters to broadcast multiple live events simultaneously to a global audience with broadcast quality. Traditionally, this would require considerable investment in server infrastructure and would result in high power consumption. With the combined power of EasyTools modular software and Netint's Quadra VPU family, streamers and broadcasters can significantly reduce infrastructure requirements, replacing ten servers with just one. This not only dramatically reduces expenses, but also reduces power consumption, as each Quadra VPU consumes only 20 watts instead of 400 watts for a server running encryption software.
Christophe Massiot, founder and CEO of EasyTools, comments that “both broadcasters and operators are under enormous pressure to deliver high-quality content efficiently,” he says. “Our partnership with Netint allows us to offer a solution that the market demanded to reduce the number of servers in operation, making streaming affordable and sustainable.”
Randal Horne, COO of Netint, adds that "we are focused exclusively on driving the efficiency and sustainability of video streaming platforms and services. Collaborating with EasyTools allows us to offer a disruptive solution to broadcasters so that they can offer better video experiences at a fraction of the cost and environmental impact."
EasyTools transcoding software runs on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers, leveraging Netint's Quadra VPUs to offload video processing tasks from the CPU. Quadra VPUs, including the Quadra Video Server, are designed for high-density, low-power video encoding, making them the ideal choice for modern broadcasting and integration with EasyTools-powered infrastructure.
