Avid brings new AI tools to ProTools version 2025.6
A new AI-based Speech-to-Text feature, designed to improve dialogue processing and music editing, arrives in ProTools version 2025.6 (Avid).
Among the main new features of ProTools 2025.6, the inclusion of Splice, the “world’s largest” library of royalty-free samples, expanding the ability of Pro Tools to harness virtually any sound a production team needs. The solution now integrates directly into Pro Tools, putting millions of loops, FX and one-shots at the fingertips of creators, who can drag audio clips from the Pro Tools timeline directly into Splice's AI-powered “Search with Sound” panel to search samples by beat, key and tempo, eliminating app switching and guesswork.
Avid has also set out to optimize the MIDI processes to streamline composition flows. In this sense, MIDI operations have been integrated into the MIDI editor, allowing key editing tools to now be integrated directly into the MIDI Editor without having to switch windows. Additionally, the system allows you to rename MIDI notes on the piano roll to match your specific drum kits or instruments, and improvements have been made to Live mode and input monitoring.
Back in the field of AI, ProTools 2025.6 introduces an engine Speech-to-Text which speeds up dialogue and music editing. Editors can search through a dedicated transcription window for any audio file from a session for vocal/lyric information, displayed as text directly in context with associated clips to find specific vocal takes and speed up navigation.
The improvements of the latest Avid update are completed with new integrations with Waves Sync VX y Dreamtonics Synthesizer V. Additionally, Pro Tools 2025.6 improves compatibility with other audio post-production solutions, including tightly integrated ADR workflows such as Non-Lethal Applications Cue Pro y The Cargo Cult Matchbox 2.0.
Pro Tools 2025.6 will be available to all subscribers Pro Tools Artist, Studio y Ultimate. New features will be presented live at the show IBC 2025 in Amsterdam from September 12 to 15.
