IBC 2025 will host Future Tech, a new area focused on generative AI and virtual production
The RAI in Amsterdam will host the 2025 edition of IBC, an event that will focus on “transformative technology” through its new Future Tech area.
The latest advances in areas such as IA, the virtual production, los interactive media, the sustainable technology and the immersive experiences will play a central role in Future Tech. Visitors to pavilion 14 will be able to see how the IA goes “from the conceptual to the practical”, encompassing the automation of live production, content generation tools and the new uses that have just been introduced. Likewise, they will have the opportunity to enter the world of virtual production, augmented reality and visual effects in real time.
Future Tech will also feature a mix of “visionary keynotes, hands-on demonstrations and thought leadership” through initiatives such as the Accelerator Innovation Zone, where nine cutting-edge Proof of Concept (PoC) projects will offer solutions to some of the sector's toughest practical challenges; a future technology conference zone with masterclasses, panels and demos; IBC Hackfest x Google Cloud, a two-day high-intensity hackathon; Google AI Penalty Challenge, an interactive experience for football fans that uses more than 15 integrated technologies to showcase the making of AI-driven decisions in sports performance, or a specific networking area. In addition, Future Tech will look back through an exhibition on the evolution of television in its 100-year history.
Future Tech will also host the growing program IBC Talent Programme, supported by partners such as Rise, Rise Academy, Host Broadcasting Services (HBS), Gals N Gear and Media Entertainment Talent Manifesto. The programme, which takes place on Friday 12 September, features a wide range of sessions and speakers covering everything from mentoring and career paths to practical skills, diversity and inclusion.
An edition with more than 1100 exhibitors
The organization of IBC 2025 has confirmed that the space reserved by exhibitors for has already exceeded the 44,000 square meters, with more than 1,100 exhibitors registered to date. With regards to the traditional conference, the event will be held from September 12 to 14, bringing together a wide mix of leaders and innovators in the sector to address topics such as: the television business and the search for sustainable growth through new platforms; live sports and real-time experiences; personalized advertising and the future of business models, or discovery and prominence, or “how to ensure content gets surfaced in a crowded landscape.”
New speakers announced include Elke Walthelm, COO of Sky Deutschland; Rollo Goldstaub, global head of sports partnerships at TikTok, and Thomas Gruber, Co-CEO of ProsiebenSat 1 PULS 4, who join others from organizations such as ITV, YouTube, Sling TV and Warner Bros. Discovery. All of them will delve into the problems, challenges and opportunities that are transforming media, entertainment and technology. Furthermore, the IA will also feature prominently in the program, which will examine not only its creative potential, but also how it can drive efficiency, improve personalization and support real-world editorial workflows.
