Cube Post: new post-production company in Barcelona

'Estación Rocafort' by Luis Prieto, 'Norbert(a)' by Sonia Escolano and Belén López Albert, 'Escape' by Rodrigo Cortés and 'Apocalipsis Z' by Carles Torrents are among the first titles he works on Cube Post, new post-production company located in Barcelona.

Cube Post takes his first steps with a permanent team of 10 people with more than 20 years of experience in the sector. Among its purposes is to design the “perfect workflow for each project”, covering everything from work on the set until the final master. To achieve this purpose, the company operates from a facility in 530 square meters repartidas en dos plantas en la Ciudad Condal: dos salas de etalonaje, cinco salas de edición offline, una sala de edición online y finishing, and a data I/O and transfer room.

To launch the project, Trigital has provided an advisory service through a study of Cube Post's needs, so that the project could be sized and the solutions that best suited the company could be provided. In the words of Nacho Melero, director of digital postproduction at Cube Post: "We have been collaborating with Trigital for more than 20 years and we fully trust its technical advice and responsiveness in providing support. It is the leading company in the sector." The integrator has also been responsible for the supply, installation and support of different solutions, including workstations of DaVinci Resolve (Blackmagic) ready to run on 4K or 4K reference monitors Sony BVM-HX3110.

Regarding central storage, Trigital has been in charge of the supply, installation and maintenance of the SAN system of Rohde & Schwarz SpycerNode SC with 1 PB capacity and real-time play capabilities in 4K from all color stations thanks to a 100Gb high-speed network. Likewise, a backup and archiving system with a robotic tape library and two LTO9 recorders has been supplied, as well as equipment for ingesting material into the system, and a shaping station and assistant with DaVinci Resolve Studio. Cube Post, for its part, has acquired an RGB laser cinema projector from Christie for P3 grading and DCP viewing.
