Cube Post: new post-production company in Barcelona focused on cinema

'Estación Rocafort' by Luis Prieto, 'Norbert(a)' by Sonia Escolano and Belén López Albert, 'Escape' by Rodrigo Cortés and 'Apocalipsis Z' by Carles Torrents are among the first titles he works on Cube Post, new post-production company located in Barcelona.

Cube Post takes his first steps with a permanent team of 10 people with more than 20 years of experience in the sector. Among its purposes is to design the “perfect workflow for each project”, covering everything from work on the set until the final master. To achieve this purpose, the company operates from a facility in 530 square meters spread over two floors in Barcelona: two grading rooms, five offline editing rooms, one online editing room and finishing, and a data I/O and transfer room.

To launch the project, Trigital has provided an advisory service through a study of Cube Post's needs, so that the project could be sized and the solutions that best suited the company could be provided. In the words of Nacho Melero, director of digital postproduction at Cube Post: "We have been collaborating with Trigital for more than 20 years and we fully trust its technical advice and responsiveness in providing support. It is the leading company in the sector." The integrator has also been responsible for the supply, installation and support of different solutions, including workstations of DaVinci Resolve (Blackmagic) ready to run on 4K or 4K reference monitors Sony BVM-HX3110.

Regarding central storage, Trigital has been in charge of the supply, installation and maintenance of the SAN system of Rohde & Schwarz SpycerNode SC con 1 PB de capacidad y con prestaciones de play en tiempo real en 4K desde todos los puestos de color gracias a una red de alta velocidad de 100Gb. Asimismo, se ha suministrado o un sistema de backup y archivo con librería robótica de cintas y dos grabadores LTO9, así como un equipo de ingesta de material en el sistema, y una estación de conformado y assistant con DaVinci Resolve Studio. Cube Post, por su parte, ha adquirido un proyector láser RGB de cine de Christie para etalonaje P3 y visionados DCP.
