The AMAE Awards are born, which will celebrate the assembly in Spain

The Association of Audiovisual Editors of Spain (AMAE) organizes the first edition of unprecedented awards in our Spain, the AMAE Awards, an initiative designed to pay tribute to the “silent and essential art” of audiovisual editing.

These awards, of character annual and scope national, are born with the firm will to grant “visibility, prestige and recognition"to those who make images make sense in the editing room. In this way, the AMAE Association takes a step that the sector "has been demanding for years": the construction of "a space of legitimacy and celebration for those who work in the shadows, assembling emotions and narratives with surgical precision and poetic discretion.”

The AMAE Awards host nine competitive categories that seek to capture the complexity and plurality of the current audiovisual ecosystem: fiction feature film, documentary feature film, fiction series, documentary series, entertainment program, video clip, advertising, reportage and current affairs program, and short or medium-length film. Furthermore, the productions of animation and pieces of video art “They will also find their place in the structure of the contest”, reaffirming the inclusive and contemporary nature of this call.

This first edition opens its registration period on June 25, 2025 and will extend to July 15. All those people who, being residents in Spain or of Spanish nationality, have been responsible for the assembly of audiovisual works released between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, may participate. The selection of nominees and winners will be carried out by the members of AMAE, through a voting system in two phases. The first round (nominations) will take place from July 18 to August 1, while the second round, which will cover the selection of winners, will take place from September 22 to October 5. The nominated productions will be announced on September 8, and the awards ceremony will take place on October 18, 2025 in a space yet to be revealed.
