RTVE - IA - Artificial Intelligence Live San Fermín 2025

Generative AI will be applied for the first time to the coverage of the San Fermín 2025 bull runs RTVE through four exclusive pieces that will show the race from a unique perspective.

After the experience of 2023, when RTVE used AI to turn Hemingway into a “correspondent of the past”, the Artificial intelligence arrives at the bulls with four pieces in which all procedures have been carried out with AI: from the historical reenactment, to the image creation, passing through the construction of the texts, the locution or the musical setting.

In the words of Jorge Vazquez, co-director of the format Live San Fermin: "This year we are going to take a step forward with Artificial Intelligence. We are going to use it to obtain those images that a camera has never been able to record and that do not even exist in the RTVE Archive. For example, we will see what the first Chupinazo of 1931 was like; we will go into the bullfight to see subjective shots of how the shepherds, the great heroes of the bullfight, work; or we will even travel to the Middle Ages to see how the first bullfights arose."

This initiative, defined as an “ambitious audiovisual exercise”, has managed to construct “those images that do not exist.” In this way, the viewer will be transported to the Middle Ages to see the first running of the bulls from the inside, while providing information on technical and human aspects of the Sanfermines; What a young man sees trapped in a dangerous pile will be recreated, or it will be possible to relive the first Chupinazo 1941 from a different square than the current one: the balcony of the Town Hall in the Plaza Consistorial. Likewise, AI will also make it possible to show, in subjective plane, the most dangerous points of the race: the Estafeta curve and the entrance to the bullring through the alley.

These pieces will be part of Live San Fermin, which will be broadcast every day from July 7 to 14 starting at 7:15 a.m. with Julian Iantzi and Ana Prada as presenters, and with the expert runner Teo Lázaro in the comments. RTVE will deploy a hundreds of people to cover burials, which will be covered through 32 cameras distributed throughout the route including zip lines that will run along Cuesta de Santo Domingo and Estafetam Street, and a drone that will offer the departure of the bulls from the corrals

Like every year, on July 6, from 11:00 a.m., The 1 y RTVE Play They will experience the start of the Pamplona festivities with the traditional Chupinazo from the balcony of the town hall.
