Atomos Ninja TX

Unlike other Ninja models, which only offer HDMI connections, the new Atomos Ninja TX features 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 inputs and outputs, as well as integrated Wi-Fi and AirGlu timecode technology.

The Ninja TX’s 5-inch, 1500 nit display is 50% brighter than other Ninja’s and is packed with professional monitoring features, such as EL ZONE false color, focus peaking, waveform, RGB parade, or vectorscope. However, what really sets Atomos’ latest solution apart is its connectivity: with integrated Wi-Fi and AirGlu, the system arrives ready for cloud workflows, including 20 GB of free ATOMOSphere storage. Through this system, creators can upload footage directly to Frame.io, Dropbox or other camera-to-cloud services, or stream it via NDI 6/HX3, enabling real-time collaboration and faster delivery from anywhere.

In parallel, a USB-C connection adds the flexibility to record directly to external storage, while 12G-SDI and HDMI outputs provide the flexibility for the system to be used in all kinds of contexts.

Unlike other models, Ninja TX arrives with all major codecs pre-enabled: Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, Avid DNx and H.265/H.264. It can also handle a wide range of resolutions and frame rates, depending on the camera’s output: up to 120 fps in HD resolution, up to 60 fps in 4K UHD/DCI and up to 30 fps in 8K UHD/DCI resolution.

For Peter Barber, CEO of Atomos, Ninja TX is the “most advanced” mode the company has ever created: “While it may look similar at first glance, Ninja TX is a completely new product, re-engineered from the ground up. There’s nothing carried over from previous models. The mechanical design, electronics, and thermal system have all been rebuilt to make this possible. I’m incredibly proud of the Atomos engineering team for achieving what many would’ve thought impossible: fitting 12G-SDI, HDMI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and timecode sync via AirGlu into such a compact and lightweight design to create a highly portable, run-and-gun, monitor-recorder.”
