AEQ's Olympia 3 will facilitate radio productions at the Starachowice Stadium
The Starachowice Stadium (Poland) has undergone a complete remodeling in which it has incorporated solutions such as the commentary system AEQ Olympia 3, which will allow broadcasters to have professional and resilient tools to connect with their stations.
As part of the modernization project carried out under the name “STARt Stadium", the venue has undergone a total transformation both at an architectural and technological level. With capacity for more than 2,000 spectators, the stadium not only stands out for its new stands, but also for its complete technical and sporting facilities. The entire audiovisual project has been coordinated by Tommex, AEQ's local partner in the country.
The stadium renovation included a six-lane running track, new natural grass and an additional field with an artificial surface, as well as professional lighting and an advanced sound system which provides uniform coverage throughout the premises. The sound project was carried out by Tommex, which supplied and implemented a state-of-the-art audio system designed to meet the needs of both football and athletics, including RCF, Bosch or Yamaha equipment.
In order to provide broadcasters with professional tools for retransmission, designed to offer a communication experience that is “clear, efficient and up to the demands of live sport”, the sports venue opted for the integration of a commentary unit Olympia 3 of AEQ. The solution incorporates control and intercom software that allows remote assistance to commentators without the need for additional hardware, as well as local inputs and outputs that facilitate the connection of wireless systems for interviews. Additionally, it features four solid-state ID message memories and a tone generator assignable to any output bus, simplifying initial setup and level alignment. Its integrated processors offer equalization, filters and automix functions, guaranteeing a clear and stable audio signal from the source.
The reopening ceremony featured a special match between the Polish Star football team and the Starachowice Old Boys team, narrated by legendary commentator Dariusz Szpakowski. The total cost of the project amounted to almost 37 million zlotys, covering construction works, infrastructure and technical equipment.
