ECAM and ESCAC once again enter the Top 15 of the best audiovisual training centers in the world
The magazine The Hollywood Reporter republishes its ranking with the best training centers around the world specialized in audiovisual and cinematography. The School of Cinematography and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid (ECAM) and the Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (CHESS) repeat in this Top 15.
To prepare this classification, the publication has counted on educators, film professionals, students and experts in this field, who have valued aspects such as the quality of its educational model, innovation in teaching, its facilities and the achievements achieved.
As for the ECAM (Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid) has more than 30 years of experience and more than 4,500 trained students. Its teaching model is characterized by intensive practice from the beginning, with more than 200 annual shoots in collaboration with active professionals. The school boasts an employability rate of over 70% and even students who find work before finishing their studies. Among his former students, filmmakers such as Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Alauda Ruiz de Azúa and Pilar Palomero stand out.
For its part, the Catalan CHESS, based in Terrassa, is characterized by a balance between film theory and practical training. Through its internal production company, ESCAC Films, it promotes the work of its students, while strengthening its ties with the industry. Juan Antonio Bayona, Mar Coll, Javier Ruiz Caldera, Kike Maíllo and Dani de la Orden are some of the professionals who have greeted them from their classrooms.
In the list of internationally renowned training centers, The Hollywood Reporter also includes Australian Film Television and Radio School (Australia), Beijing Film Academy (China), FAMU Prague (Czech Republic), Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (Hong Kong), Korean Academy of Film Arts (South Korea), London Film School (United Kingdom), National Film and Television School (United Kingdom), Sam Spiegel Film School (Israel), Tokyo University of the Arts (Japan), Toronto Film School (Canada), Universidad de Cine (Argentina), Vancouver Film School (Canada) and Victoria University of Wellington – Te Herenga Waka (New Zealand).
