The 2026 World Cup will be seen on RTVE and on payment operators via Mediapro
RTVE will broadcast the 2026 World Cup to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico in the summer of 2026 after the agreement reached with FIFA. Besides, Mediapro, after having reached an agreement with public radio and television, will make its GolStadium platform available with all the competition matches to payment operators.
The competition will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026 and it will be the longest of the history, since they will compete for the first time 48 selections of the five continents, instead of the 32 of the previous ones. They will be disputed 104 games in total, in eleven cities in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Canada, a 62% more than in the previous World Cup, which had 64 games.
RTVE will broadcast one match for each day of the competition, highlighting all those played by the spanish national team and the most important of the tournament. Among them, the opening match on June 11 from the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City with the debut of the Mexican team, the main round of 16 and quarterfinal matches, the two semifinals and the matches for third and fourth place and the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New York.
Mediapro, for its part, will issue the 104 parties of the competition after having reached an agreement with RTVE for the acquisition of the rights to the competition; 71 of them, exclusively. To make all the content available to all fans, it will launch a canal 24/7 dedicated to the 2026 World Cup, which will be marketed to different operators of pay. In this way, the group replicates the bet implemented during the last FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 with World Goal.
Spain has been placed in group E in the UEFA qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup and will face Turkey, Georgia and Bulgaria. The first classified in each group will directly qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
