The crisis of the 50s will be portrayed by Cimarrón and Oficina Burman (The Mediapro Studio) in 'The rest well'
Cimarron and Burman Office (The Mediapro Studio) take charge of 'The rest well', an original series of Flow created by Daniel Burman whose filming has already begun.
The rest good offers a look ironic and tender about the crisis of 50. The story follows Ariel (Benjamín Vicuña), a successful cartoonist trapped in the life that he himself built: the demands of five children, the constant attention of his parents and a social life that suffocates him. When a doctor prohibits him from carrying more than three kilos due to a hernia, that minimum physical limit becomes the starting point of a comical and revealing journey: “what really weighs us down in life?”
The series consists of eight 30-minute episodes, created and written by Burman together with a team that includes some of his regular collaborators such as, Ariel Gurevich (Transmitzvah), Andrés Gelós (The Curses, Iosi, the repentant spy), Pablo Gelós (The Curses) and Eloy Burman. The direction is in charge of the own Daniel Burman and of Daniel Hendler, Uruguayan actor and director, who premiered A loose end at the Venice Biennale and this year presents 27 nights as the opening film of the San Sebastián Festival.
The original series of Flow, in co-production with Cimarron and Burman Office (The Mediapro Studio), stars Benjamín Vicuña (Dream a Dream), Rita Cortese (Wild Tales), Violet Urtizverea (envious), Jorge Bolani (Whisky) and is filmed in different locations in Uruguay and Paraguay. The cast is completed by Daniel Hendler himself (Palermo Division) and the special participation of Andrea Frigerio (The Illustrious Citizen), Alejandro Awada (Iosi, the repentant spy) and Marina Bellati (Black Widows).
"The night before I turned fifty I had a new feeling: that of a man prepared to face his firing squad. However, the next day, life continued and, with it, the weight of multiple children, parents who are in eternal deterioration and where this moment, supposedly unique and magical, becomes extinct and is devoured by the generations above and below. I wonder: When is it my turn?", commented Daniel Burman about the serie, pointing out that "middle age does not bring certainties, but more weight: senile parents who now depend on us; children, who never leave home, expect us to guide them, and we are completely lost. In this context, 'El Resto Bien' is born, the story of Ariel, a newly inaugurated fifty-year-old who goes through this stage with acid humor and a human gaze. A story that wants to connect not only with audiences who live the same life as him, but with older generations, so that they can watch with a little mercy for their children, and with the future, who still do not know what awaits them.”
The rest good will premiere in Flow in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. The Mediapro Studio Distribution has the rights to sell the series in the rest of the world.
