CrossMedia (CrossPoint) has played a decisive role in the platform success, whom he has accompanied in various phases of his implementation, defining at each moment their key areas and forming a solution that competes with the largest references in the market. One of these areas has been the renewal of its video player, which was accompanied by a new accessible and functional design in all versions of the service: web, mobile applications and connected televisions. This improvement of player It helped reduce loading times, improve content quality, define different audio preferences or customize the appearance of the player on different devices.

Likewise, CrossMedia has contributed important UX improvements like the project personalization and recommendation. In collaboration with 24 i, CrossMedia led the implementation of a personalized recommendation system capable of analyzing consumption history, user profile and preferences to offer content in a dynamic and personalized way to each profile. Another of the company's milestones was launching a comprehensive analytics platform focused on the quantitative and qualitative measurement of events that occur at the client layer, both at the player and application level. Thanks to this, a real-time analysis of the performance and user experience in RTVE Play is offered, helping, among other issues, to optimize the quality of streaming, know the user's traffic in the app, as well as improve the engagement of its audience. The introduction of the sensor Live has been key to expanding data collection.

CrossMedia has also been the provider and responsible for the content distribution (CDN) of the entire RTVE Play platform, which facilitates the delivery of content to users and has allowed RTVE to personalize the distribution of content thanks to serverless technologies and code deployment at the Edge, supporting high attendance for important events such as the UEFA Nations League, el Benidorm Fest or what will be next USA Soccer World Cup in 2026. Furthermore, it has implemented a advanced WAF protection service that improves the security of the platform, or a direct origin protection service that prevents access from the Internet to malicious users without limiting access to other legitimate users.

These deployments of CrossMedia, to which are added other specific projects such as the infrastructure of the voting system of the past Benidorm Fest or the metadata of the RTVE file with Artificial Intelligence, have contributed to helping RTVE Play consolidate itself as a leader in the Spanish free on-demand OTT market, as explained Jorge Frias, head of digital media of CrossMedia: "It has been a pleasure to actively collaborate with the RTVE digital team to contribute all our knowledge to a reference development at a European level such as RTVE Play.
