The Academy of Television and Audiovisual Sciences and Arts signs a collaboration agreement with HBO Max by which the main streaming platform of Warner Bros. Discovery joins the Council of the Institution for the development and promotion of joint projects.

Under this agreement, HBO Max will provide the Academy with support to carry out activities aimed, among other objectives, at the promotion and defense of the public image of the audiovisual sector as a driving force of the cultural industry and the promotion of professional excellence in the audiovisual sector in Spain.

The signing took place in The Friends Experience: The one in Madrid and has had the participation of Angel Yllera, GVP of TV Licensing, Affiliate Sales and Digital Distribution of Warner Bros. Discovery for Southern Europe, and Maria Casado, president of the Television Academy.

Yllera highlighted that "Warner Bros. Discovery has a long history in Spain, where for decades it has undoubtedly supported the development of the audiovisual industry as a distributor and producer of film and television content, content provider for free-to-air channels, publisher of pay channels and more recently with the streaming platform HBO Max. We are happy to continue taking steps in this direction and joining an institution like the TV Academy is undoubtedly one of the most relevant."

For her part, María Casado recognizes that "with this important alliance we add to the Television Academy a great world-class audiovisual brand with an incredible capacity to generate successes and with a clear commitment to production in Spain. We continue with the commitment to build an increasingly diverse and representative Academy. The figures support the Spanish audiovisual sector as a strategic industry and engine of our economy. In this constantly evolving ecosystem, we defend the need to meet and promote dialogue and coexistence. At the Academy, Along with professionals in the sector, private and public chains, platforms and management entities are represented, with different interests, different points of view but the same sensitivities. This necessary diversity must be transferred to society and we must all participate in the joint reflection on the challenges, opportunities and future of the sector.
