The Ondas 2025 Awards recognize the role of radio during the great blackout
This Tuesday the jury's decision for the 72nd edition of the Waves Awards that recognize and promote radio, musical and television productions that, both nationally and internationally and in all their genres and formats, provide innovative elements and improve the audience's experience.
The awards, announced by the journalist Iñaki Gabilondo from the studios of Radio Barcelona (SER), have wanted in this edition to recognize, among others, the role of radio stations during the blackout, the special news on the death of Pope Francis on RTVE, the program Dos Page (TVE La2), the series puberty, as well as the work of communicators such as Paco Lobatón, Isaías Lafuente and El Gran Wyoming.
The awards jury has also recognized the work of professionals and content such as Coffee of ideas by Gemma Nierga, Alejandra Herranz, Paco Lobatón, Secun de la Rosa, the cast of Fury, Pastora Soler, Valeria Castro, Guitarricadelafuente or the series Celeste, Want o Puberty.
In this edition, they have presented 542 applications from up to 18 countries from all over the world. The national and international juries, made up of 28 radio, television, advertising and music professionals, have been in charge of choosing this year's winners, who will receive a total of 26 awards.
The jury has awarded the Waves on the path to Isaías Lafuente "for being one of the most prestigious and recognizable voices on the radio, for his rigor in the treatment of content, his creativity and ironic outlook, and his informative will" as well as "for being a professional with a brilliant career, as a writer, political analyst and man of the radio, from his beginnings at RNE to the present day at SER. He has also awarded the work of Greater Wyoming for "their good work, commitment and courage to give continuity to one of the longest-running formats on television. The Greater Wyoming maintains a proposal in force in a slot that has focused all eyes for several seasons and that is crucial for television, such as Access prime."
The Ondas international radio award went to Alejandro Dolina, for his career of more than four decades on Argentine radio, creating his own universe through humor with his legendary nighttime program Revenge will be terrible. On the other hand, the international television channel has gone to The last ride (The human factor), a production by the Italian RAI that has given voice and dignity to the homeless in the United States, combining the poetic narrative of singer Tom Waits with social conscience. National Radio Waves Awards
- best program: Version RAC1 (RAC1)

For being an original and informative format, which in just sixty minutes adapts classics of universal literature with rigor, interpretive excellence and careful sound design. - To the career or best professional work: Isaías Lafuente
For being one of the most prestigious and recognizable voices on the radio, for its rigor in the treatment of content, its creativity and ironic outlook, and its informative desire. The word of the day, dear Isaiah, is PRIZE. For being a professional with a brilliant career, as a writer, political analyst and radio man, from his beginnings at RNE to the present day at SER. For having contributed to the success of programs such as HxH and A Vivir, which are two days, and for being part of the La Ventana team where he is responsible for sections such as “What remains of the day” and “Surveillance Unit”.

- Best Male Performer in Fiction: Secun de la Rosa by Superstar (Netflix)
For building a character full of honesty without falling into parody that manages to connect with the audience. Secun De la Rosa's interpretation brings humanity to the crazy and chaotic fantasy that Nacho Vigalondo imagines about a reality in Spain in the 2000s that catapulted and normalized media harassment.
- Best female performer in fiction: For the cast of Fury: Carmen Machi
For the cohesion of all the female interpretations, in a woven proposal that achieves a choral story of contemporary women. For three decades of exemplary career in which he has combined tremendous vocal capacity, unique sensitivity and a deep connection with the public. For his ability to combine the intimate with the universal, the Ondas award for Phenomenon of the Year goes to Guitarricadelafuente, an artist who has been able to build a deeply introspective identity, rooted in the local, but with great international projection. His album Spanish Leather marks a turning point in his career: a work that not only stands out for its sound, its careful production and a unique imagery, but also for a staging that shows its genuine character without ceasing to play with transgression. His music is transversal, capable of moving different generations, and his artistic growth in this last year makes him deserving of this recognition.
- Best Show, Tour or Festival: Los40 Music Awards Santander
