3Cat, junto a Aguacate & Calabaza Films, produce ‘LIA’, la nueva serie de ficción sobre la inteligencia artificial

Directed by Patricia Font and Ana Millán, 3Cat in collaboration with Aguacate & Calabaza Films filming of 'LIA' begins, a series that seeks to encourage scientific vocations among female audiences by presenting the professional challenges and personal conflicts that young scientists have to face in this competitive and demanding environment.

Four scientific women, performed by Cristina Colum LIA, a pioneering program in artificial intelligence that gives its name to the new fiction series that has begun filming these days. The production also has the participation of Emma Vilarasau and Daniel Grao.

The production, with a script by Mireia Llinàs, Ana Millán, Marta Grau and Josep Solé, has the support of the Generalitat of Catalonia through the departments of the Presidency and Business and Labor to encourage female students to have a vocation for the STEAM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

LIA is a 6 episode fiction that delves into the scientific field with a female perspective. The series aims to generate female references through the main characters of fiction and seeks to break stereotypes such as that science, research and technology are not primarily feminized sectors.

The series, which has the advice of Catalan scientists specializing in robotics, bioinformatics and satellites, has been filmed in real settings in Catalonia such as the Barcelona Super Computer Center (BSC) or the Synchrotron. A sign that Catalonia is a benchmark in digitalization worldwide and that it has always been a land of entrepreneurs, businessmen who seek innovation.
